HISTORY
The CDC was honorably named after Reverend James Walter Mitchell, founder of Zion Hill Baptist Church (now The City of Zion Church).
To honor his work and legacy within the 43205 community, extending to all of Columbus, OH, the James Walter Mitchell Community Development Corporation (CDC) was created.

The vision was to create an organization that would honor the work of Rev. Mitchell and foster the vision of Pastor Elgin Orton to strengthen the community through education, services, and support.
MISSION
To transform, empower, and equip the Old Towne East District and surrounding areas; to produce effective change in their lives, homes, and communities by offering a quality and informative environment.
